Twas the Night Before Surgery....

.....and all through the house
not a creature stirred,
not even.....the loudest of them all. Because, well, he isn't here :o(

That's right - Lincoln is already shipped out to Nathan's parents for the next few days. We miss him already so much! But we know he is so loved where he will be.

Keziah is sound asleep, wearing the pjs she wants to wear to the hospital:

Yes, this girl has absolutely no problem with what is coming tomorrow. We've talked about it lots, and she has already told me what she wants for supper at the hospital. Any guesses?! :o)

The only thing she has mentioned that she doesn't like is the smelly stuff that puts her to sleep. She thinks it stinks! But other than that, it is all good to go!

We dropped Lincoln off this afternoon, so we took Kez out for supper tonight. I have noticed that the day before her surgery, I am in the mood to give her anything and everything she would like. She could ask me for the moon and I'd try! Good thing she hasn't clued into that yet, but that is how I feel.

Once home, we gave her a shower, knowing this will be the last one for a week or so. You can really see her bubble, especially the back of it, when it is wet.

Speaking of washing her hair, I have noticed that some surgeons shave all the hair off so they can see everything. I did ask Dr. Zuker if he would and thankfully he said no. He'll only be shaving off where the incisions are. Phew!!! I did take pictures of her hair just in case.....

So, tomorrow we say good-bye to her bubble. She doesn't mind that it is going, except she likes it when turns pink:

We have found that the bubble added to her looks, in a neat kind of way. I've always done her hair so it is always out of her face, which made her look like she had a fancy do. It does give me a glimpse of what she might look like in her teens, with big hair!

Here she is with her hair down, which gives a whole new look!

Bubble or not, freckle and all, this girl is beautiful! We pray that God will watch over her tomorrow, that He will guide the hands of the doctors and that recovery for her won't be too rough.

Ps. 121
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

I'll let you know how things are going as the day/week goes on.

  1. Sweet dreams, Keziah......
    You are right! The bubble DID add to her looks in a neat way. Possibly because she wears it with a smile! Love you all!

  6. Thinking of you today!! Hope and pray all goes well. Kez is one special little girl... with that indomitable spirit and those eyes that sparkle it's a wonder you don't give her whatever she wants any day, never mind the day before surgery!! ;) Totally understandable, but you're right, probably a good thing she hasn't quite figured it out yet! Praying for strength and courage through the wait, and good results & a speedy recovery. Hugs!
