Two Weeks Later

Be still my heart.

Keziah continues to heal up nicely. The skin graft looks great with it having lost almost all the patchy brown skin. It just flaked off. So now the skin is quite pink.

Does anyone have any tricks or tips on how to get Polysporin off clothes?? We have lost a number of clothes due to this and just washing them doesn't get it out. Thanks!!

  1. Try the Buncha Farmers stick, it takes almost anything out! I think you can get them at Snugglebugz, Springy's, etc, and they cost about $4.

  3. I degreaser of some kind should do the trick. I have some from a janitorial store in St. Kits that works great but it's a bit far away. I've read that the hand soap mechanics use works too and Princess Auto has one on the website for $4 that says it's good for laundry.

  4. Thanks for posting, Michelle. I was just thinking this morning that I would love an update --sometime I think you can read my mind! It still amazes me how well this procedure works!

  5. Wow, Michelle and Nathan, Keziah's transformation shows us all how God is so good...giving Keziah the courage and strength to sustain all that she has to go through, giving doctors the knowledge and ability to perform such an amazing change, and for giving the two of you the blessing of patience, gentleness and love for this beautiful child whom he so graciously put into your lives...halleluia!

  7. Wisk - brush or rub it on the spots and put in hamper till next wash day. Don't use the dryer until you are sure its gone.
    Thanks for all the updates!

  10. Thanks, everyone!! It is good to have a list of different ways in case one doesn't quite work out. Off to find me some chalk.... (being a teacher, that is what I have on hand, hence the choice to choose that method first :o)

  11. It is so good to read this wonderful update and to see the amazing transformation on your beautiful little girl. We pray for the Lord's continued blessings in your lives and may His promises truly make your hearts be still with the knowledge that He is God.
As for degreaser; I've used the mechanics' orange degreaser handcleaner before on greasy clothes.

  12. Just read your blog last week after hearing from your relatives about your little girl's operation and everything leading up to it. Amazing what the Lord has allowed doctors to figure out to help with something like this! Glad Keziah is doing so well! What a blessing! We pray that the Lord's blessings continue for you all!

As far as the polysporin goes, try "Zachte Zeep", available in dutch shops. Treat the spot by making it wet with cold water and work the soap into the spot, adding cold water so that it suds. You can wash it right away or just leave it for when you are ready to launder. Then just launder regularly. If necessary, treat again. I've had success with this even when the clothing has been in the dryer, even when it takes a few tries.
